Horizon® Coarse Parge Coat is a durable acrylic coating used to protect and finish exposed insulated concrete forms above grade. It creates an attractive textured appearance while helping continue the building’s waterproofing protection from the below-grade system to the exterior wall finish.
Horizon Coarse Parge Coat is applied directly over exposed EPS foam at the grade line. The UV-resistant coating protects the foam from sunlight, weather exposure and direct impacts while creating a clean transition between the foundation and the building’s exterior cladding.
The area between the finished grade and exterior siding, stucco or cladding can leave part of an ICF foundation exposed. Horizon Coarse Parge Coat provides a practical finishing solution for this vulnerable section of the wall.
Its textured surface helps conceal the appearance of the underlying foam and creates a finished foundation appearance. It also adds another layer of protection at the grade line, where below-grade waterproofing meets the above-grade wall assembly.
Horizon is supplied as a pre-mixed, single-component product. It can be roller-applied or spray-applied directly to exposed EPS, reducing the number of materials and installation steps required for conventional parging systems.
